As a member of the OTKO, all members are required to adhere to the govering OTKO dojo etiquette rules.
1957 OTKO Established in USA.
1975 First New Zealand OTKO Dojo opens under Sensei M Lee (Sho dan)
Worchester Street, Christchurch New Zealand.
1982/3 New Zealand host dojo two OTKO dojo's. Second dojo under Sensei J Grant (Ni dan) Marine Parade New Brighton, Christchurch New Zealand.
1988 Grand Master Gordon A Doversola commences the first Advanced Instructors course spanning 42 months (3.5 yrs)
1989 New Zealand opens third OTKO dojo. Third dojo under Sensei John Flavell.
1991 Advanced Instructors course completed.
1991 Sensei John Flavell achieves Advanced San dan promotion.
1994 OTKO NZ registers the OTKO and it's Logo as an Incorporated Society.

1995 Sensei John Flavell appointed by Grand Master Gordon A Doversola to OTKO New Zealand (Oceania) Chief Instructor.
1996 OTKO joins UNZKO
1997 OTKO NZ builds it's first privately owned OTKO NZ HQ dojo.
2000 OTKO NZ celibrates 25 years in New Zealand
2005 OTKO NZ celibrates 30 years in New Zealand.
2007 OTKO celibrates 50 years internationally.
2010 OTKO celibrates 35 years in New Zealand
2010 OTKO NZ HQ dojo pays final morgage instalment and becomes freehold.
2010 OTKO NZ HQ dojo damaged by multiple Earthquakes.
2011 OTKO Creater, Founder Grand Master Gordon A Doversola passes over into the spirit world (RIP)
2011 OTKO leadership transfers to it's newly appointed and formed governing Council as directed by Grand Master Gordon A Doversola.
Present Council members: Sensei's Richard Triplett (USA), John Helms(USA), Czarina Doversola(USA), Jorge Godinez(USA), Ivan Brandler(USA), John Arnould(USA), John Flavell(NZ).
2011 OTKO Council member Sensei John Arnould visits New Zealand.
2012 OTKO Celibrates 55 years tuition to the general public.
2012 OTKO NZ Treasurer Sensei Mary Patu visits OTKO dojo's in USA.
Due to Damage to our family dojo (OTKO NZ HQ) the instructors and students now train at the St. Mary's Catholic School Hall (New Brighton). Tuesdays and Thursday evenings 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Additional training is also avaliable Sundays 1pm-3pm (Contact Sensei John for Details.
This is a tempary meassure until EQC give us the green light to immediately begin repairs and re-open our dojo.
