Halswell Clinic - Osteopath Christchurch
Osteopathy is a branch of medical practice specialising in manual therapy. It is a natural, holistic, hands on therapy designed to facilitate a return to health through holistic (whole body) treatment. Osteopathy works on the body's ability to heal itself; the role of the practitioner is to aid this process.
Osteopathy is beneficial to people of all ages, and utilises a variety of techniques to improve the function of the body, including the musculoskeletal, lymphatic, nervous and circulatory systems. Common techniques involve manipulation of the joints and soft tissue massage to improve mobility and reduce pain, as well as cranio-sacral techniques.
Common conditions treated by Osteopaths include headache, back and neck pain, sciatica, whiplash, tennis elbow and other joint pain. Osteopaths can also help with arthritis, stress and a wide variety of other health conditions.
Osteopaths are ACC registered (no referral necessary).
The cost is $75 per 45 min session ($35 for ACC treatments).
For CSC holders / children the cost is $65 (or $25 on ACC).
