AUT African Students Club (AUTASC) is created to help African students to succeed by working closely with AUT, AUT Student Services and other organisations. And by providing social activities AUTASC will keep African Students entertained while they are studying at AUT.
Our aim is to increase access to tertiary and continuing education for African students in NZ by reaching large numbers of students and professionals in multiple sites simultaneously.
Through AUTASC and AUT Student Services, we will provide guidance for African students to be involved in undergraduate, post-graduate, and non-formal programmes. This will enhance the academic and personal development of African students.
It was formed on 1 January 2000 when the Auckland Institute of Technology was granted university status. Its primary campus is on Wellesley Street in Auckland's Central business district (CBD). AUT has three secondary campuses: North Shore, Manukau, and the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health.
