The Auckland Dance Company
Already a prolific name in New Zealand, The Auckland Dance Company dancers perform and teach at events all around Australasia. Their dancers performed for Pepsi in Nov 2012 helping to launch the new Limited Edition Pepsi Bottles, The Radio Network at the Paper Plus Masquerade Awards and opened the Sony Pictures Film Premiere of Christina Aguilera's “Burlesque†Movie. They have performed at recent big events for Telecom, American Express (APX), CanTeen, The Royal NZ Easter Show, Flashmobs for Pepsi & The NZ Cancer Society & provided dancers for various music videos & photoshoots nation-wide.
Recently scoring a coveted half-time slot, The ADC Dancers perform in front of a 4000-strong crowd at a recent sold-out Skycity Breakers Basketball game. The busy studio also became an Internet sensation earlier this year with almost 50,000 views of their “Smooth Criminal†dance performance on YouTube - making them the second most viewed Michael Jackson video in the world in December 2011 (second only the MJ's "Thriller").
Community-minded, the company has raised almost $10,000 for CanTeen (the NZ organisation supporting young people living with cancer) over the past 3 years with its annual RISE Dance Showcase giving their students opportunities to perform with professionals, musicians & stars alike. Their dancers have also supported causes such as Cure Kids and The Cancer Society by performing for them in events and flashmobs across Auckland City.
2012 has proven to be an even more ambitious year, with the studio completing their official rebrand to The Auckland Dance Company, solidifying the rebrand with a sold-out live Cabaret Show at Libertine Restaurant in Freemans Bay, a picturesque Lake Tekapo Photoshoot in the breathtaking South Island of New Zealand & contracts secured with Auckland University and a very popular, yet-to-be-disclosed soft drink brand (details underwraps!)
Auckland Dance Company Creative Director Kimberley James has also recently taught across Europe in Madrid, Paris and Germany and continues to make her mark with another huge show for CanTeen (The NZ Organisation supporting young people with cancer) planned for next month.
With an ambitious 2013 planned and endless creative opportunities, The Auckland Dance Company have been the company to watch this year.
