Tiritiri Matangi Island is a world leader in community and government-led conservation and restoration initiatives. Visitors to the island are treated to a wide range of rare native bird species, most of which have been extinct on the mainland until recent conservation efforts. The island is proudly free of all non-native pests and has biosecurity measures in place to protect the flora and fauna. Access is via 360 Discovery ferry services, who sail Wednesday - Sunday throughout the year.
Tiritiri Matangi is managed by the Department Of Conservation, in association and partnership with the Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi, Inc.
