Our Photographer Ben Lane has four years of formal training in creative thinking with an Honours Degree in Computer Graphic Design from Waikato University and the Wanganui School of Design. He has always enjoyed expressing himself through creative means and took up photography at a very young age. He studied photography throughout high school and took related papers while at university. Eventually finding himself tutoring the first year photography paper there, which was a real blast. Meeting and encouraging 40 new creative minds and helping them to show people the world as they see it was a wholly enlightening experience. These days Ben jumps at the chance to travel with his camera. He has spent a lot of my time over the past few years exploring the world with his kit and honing his skills as a situational photographer. Learning to anticipate in advance that single moment that makes or breaks an image. It is these experiences and skills learned in faraway places such as Namibia, Cambodia and China that Ben brings to the table in his more domestic imagery back in the land of the long white cloud. We chose the name Tinted Photography because we like to think it neatly illustrates the way we see the world. In a different light.
