Te Newhanga Community Centre is fortunate to be located in a vibrant and creative community. Our aim to provide an affordable venue for community groups to hold their educational, recreational, supportive, and social events. The Centre is owned and subsidised by the Kapiti Coast District Council; but is run independently by a Management Team of local residents, users of the Centre, and Kapiti Coast District Council advisors. It is a community facility for the local community. We are centrally located near the Paraparaumu council buildings, public library, and across the road from Coastlands shopping mall. There is ample parking for both cars and coaches along with various bus routes that stop nearby. The train station is also within easy walking distance. Youth Quest is a character mentoring, programme based organisation, with a passion to practically and effectively work with young people and their families within their communities ‘Mentoring is an interaction between a more experienced person and a less experienced person: it provides guidance that motivates the mentored person'. We strive to deliver high quality programmes and mentoring to the young people we work with through building on - Independence, Mastery, Generosity and Belonging. We run a number of programmes with these key elements fundamental to the final outcome of ‘inspiring positive futures’ for all.

A place, avaliable to hangout or to hire for small events. A neutral venue for youth to gather and hangout, or take part in fun low cost activities.

Playgroup is held each Monday morning 9.15 - 11.45am and has small charge of $2 and a piece of fruit. We have a great range of activities and a set music time. Good outdoor facilities also. We do not run through the holidays or public holidays.

The Railway hosts a collection of live steam, internal combustion and battery electric locomotives. The track is a double loop and includes one station, two tunnels, two spirals and two viaducts, in a run of 650 meters. A planned extension will take the railway within sight of the beach and Kapiti Island.
