Our brigade is a volunteer organisation that can respond at a moments notice to an emergency in the Lower Hutt City area. We train once a week on Monday evenings. If you are interested in joining and live or work within a 3 kilometer radius of the station we would like to hear from you. Who are we? Te Paepae Arahi was established in 2003 by the Hutt Valley DHB to support whanau with mental health and/or addiction needs. We tautoko over 500 children, rangatahi and pakeke each year Our team of support workers, social workers, counsellors, nurses, kaumatua and alcohol and addiction clinicians enjoy helping whanau to increase wellness and succed in meeting their own goals. How can we help? - Provide a free service for Whanau - Support Whanau with mental health or alcohol and drug concerns - Support tamariki and rangatahi with mental health or alcohol and drug needs - Work with schools, alternative education providers, Housing NZ, WINZ, CYFs, Police, Courts and others to support whanau Rangatahi Support and Couselling Our experienced team enjoy helping rangatahi aged 0-17 years to see and believe in their innate potential. We offer: - Opportunities for rangatahi and their whanau to work through issues from a strength based approach - One to one support and counselling for rangatahi to build and maintain positive relationships with their whanau, friends and school - Programmes that teach rangatahi to cope better with the feelings they have, the behaviour they present, and how this affects, themselves, their whanau and others Community Support Service - Whanau Ora Plans - We can help and your whanau set goals for the things that are important to your health and wellbeing - We are also happy to support you on your own if you prefer We will help you reach your goals such as, - Finding enjoyment and confidence - Getting out of the house - Reduced alcohol use - Enjoying life drug free - Finding accommodation - Reconnecting with whanau and/or friends - Establishing new support networks - Re-engaging in school or studies - Finding a job - Budgeting - Being a better parent or friend Transition Accomodation - Te Whare Puawai in Upper Hutt - Accommodation and support for up to 6 months to help whanau learn new skills and, in the future, live independently Who is Te Whare Puawai for? Males of any ethnicity, aged 18 years or older who live in the Hutt Valley and are, - Recovering from mental health and/or alcohol or drug issues - Motivated to participate in own recovery - Open to being a part of a home and supports based on Maori values - Willing to participate in Te Whare Puawai programmes and supports, and - Open to including whanau or other support networks in recovery How do i access the services of Te Paepae Arahi? - Anyone can make a referral by completing a referral form - Referral forms can be requested by calling 920 0696 or downloading it from our website - Referrals can also be made by rangatahi, whanau, doctors, school teachers/counsellors - Referrals for Te Whare Puawai will include a NASC assessment. It has several different service and facilities: - Secret Cafe - The Dance Zone and Main Event Stage - 107.2 Secret FM - The Multimedia Suite - LAN Gaming Suite - Digital Tube Recording Studio - Secret Cafe (Our flag ship hang out space and also a non-alcoholic bar/cafe. Perfect for watching movies or just chilling with mates). This is the best place to escape the world. Here you can jump on the net in our free internet and wifi cafe or chill on a couches and watch a vid or play pool, fuseball, arcade games all for free! - The Dance Zone and Main Event Stage This space houses Wellington's best dance floor and performance stage as well as free pool tables, table tennis and computer gaming LAN suite. A variety of dance classes are also run here including Hip-Hop, Salsa and Breakdance. This is also where we have a lot of our events and is also available for hire. -107.2 Secret FM This is Secret Levels very own radio station catering to local youth and youth orientated people. Operated by Youth and Staff, Secret FM runs live shows and themed playlists. It is the voice of Secret level and the voice of youth in the Hutt Valley. -The Multimedia Suite Our Multimedia suite has a Full Adobe Creative Suite including drawing tablet, scanner and A3 colour printer. It also doubles as a small production studio (DAW) for anybody wanting to do audio pre-production for soundtracks or make beats on Fruity Loops (FL Studio 8 xxl). -Digital Tube Recording Studio Digital Tube Studio has a variety of rooms avaliable for your musical services. The control room is the hub of the Digital Tube facility. It houses the recording console (a 32 channel Soundcraft S600) and the outboard gear. It’s a custom designed room and has great natural light and street views. The control room is a great place to work in for all recording, editing and mixing. The main studio is a custom built, isolated room, large enough for a full size drum kit, keys, guitar and bass to perform in. It has a great sound for drums and natural verb for vocals and amps. The studio get great results for natural acoustic instruments. The isolation booth is a dead room, perfect for vocals and dry sounding guitar amps. It’s a small yet punchy room. It has direct sight lines to the main studio. The landing is an overly ambient reverberant space great for getting natural guitar and bass sounds. All rooms have feeds to and from the control room maximizing their use.
