When possible we like to get our appliances out on display, attending parades, centennials and open days to lift our profile and share our hard work with the public.
New members are always welcome! No previous fire-fighting experience is necessary as we are not an active brigade, just a keen interest in vintage fire appliances and their restoration.
We are always looking for new members; training night is Mondays from 7pm to approximately 8.30pm.
All new members are accepted upon completion of a medical check and screening process; they then have up to a year to complete their Recruit course, after which they can ride the trucks to attend call-outs.
We get anywhere up to 180 call-outs per year, from house fires to car crashes, cats up trees to natural disasters.
People of all ages and abilities add to the diversity of the brigade; we are all people who care about our communities and who want to be actively involved in them. Many of the skills learned as Firefighters can be applied to various situations you will face in life, and these transferable skills will benefit your place of work.
