The Edgecumbe Fire Brigade is a Volunteer Brigade that services the Edgecumbe township and surrounding areas within the Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. The brigade currently has 22 very dedicated members, many have served in the brigade for a number of years & some have joined in recent times. We all live within the Edgecumbe community and are either employed in town or outside of the district. The Edgecumbe fire brigade has two fire appliances and we answer on average 150 – 200 calls every year. The types of calls we go to vary from house fires, vegetation fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical assistance, rescues, hazardous substance spills, false alarms, industrial fires & incidents and of course natural disasters. The NZ fire service provides extensive training opportunities, qualifications & various necessities such as uniforms, protective clothing, equipment, appliances, communication systems and insurance. Being a member of your local fire Brigade is “fun & exciting” it is excellent opportunity serve & give back to the community that you live in.

We run regular dance classes from beginner to intermediate. We are planning to organise special classes with guest teachers for those who wish to develop new style or just have fun. We are a Social Club, we do not go to competition but regularly visiting other rock and roll clubs and events.

Kids Rock is a place where all children in our community are welcome! We meet on a fortnightly basis. We aim to have fun on Friday nights for all kids who are in year 6, 7 or 8 at school. We meet together and have heaps of fun including playing games, meeting new friends, doing crazy challenges, learn about important life skills to help you grow - such as peer pressure, self-esteem, ... We have a Christian basis to our programme which includes creative life skills, aimed at this age group to help them cope with life issues. We aim to teach young people to be responsible for their own choices.
