Some details about the club.
Season:
Mid August to Mid May
Club nights are held every Wednesday night at the BMX track, during daylight savings, with check in between 5pm & 5.45pm, racing underway at 6.00pm. Full safety gear is required to be on the track, and we can assist with the requirements.
School Programmes:
Our School Challenge is held every November with an open invitation to all Primary, Intermediate and High Schools in the area. Last year apporox 120 children from 11 schools competed for the covenant top 4 schools Trophies.
Events / Tournaments:
We also host Inter club meets – where club riders from all BMX Clubs in New Zealand are able to come to our track for a fun weekend of racing.
The "Ride by the Tide" race meeting – December – is a Nationals qualifying event.
Our club has been awarded the honour of hosting the 2012 North Island BMX Championship , the event will be held on the newly developed track, Pohe Island, Whangarei, attracting more that 600 riders over the weekend.
Coach Education:
The club offers members training on all basic BMX skills, rules and tips for riding. We have had regular visists from New Zealands National BMX Coach recently over the last few years to provide excellent training opportunities for our members.
