Opotiki's Motu Challenge is one of the country's premier multisport races, with over NZ$30,000 worth of prizes.
The Motu Challenge has four stages: 65km mountain bike, 17km run, 52km road cycle, and multisport stage with a 27km kayak, 8km road cycle and 3km run to the finish.
The Motu 160 runs alongside the Motu Challenge and includes a 65km mountain bike ride and a 90km road bike ride.

We boast one of the cheapest half marathons around with the most beautiful and scenic course designed to give you a bit of everything. Starting and finishing on Orewa Beach we send you through the pretty Eaves Bush track followed by a run through Kensingtion Park Villas down some local roads to Orewa's new cycle/walkway and over to Silverdale and Millwater Estate.
It really does have different surfaces and something new to look at the entire time.
Orewa Events are all about family fun and fitness and so we have created an affordable good feel event for all ages and abilities.
A great programme of social activities combined with four games per team will ensure the opportunity to mix with all teams and to establish the Vintage Hockey Fraternity of older players who love playing the game and then talking about it over a drink or 2.
