The Cancer Society works right across the cancer spectrum from diagnosis to outcome, whatever that may be, whatever the age group, we are there for the entire journey if we are required. The Cancer Society supports people with cancer and their families, as well as providing a comprehensive information service about cancer. We have a team of volunteer drivers to enable you to attend local clinics and the Regional cancer centres. We also provide a wide range of information on all aspects of cancer for patients and their families, health professionals and the general public. Our resources include: leaflets, pamphlet, journal articles, books and videos. The service also includes a lending library, resources and aids to help those in need. in exceptional circumstances we are also able to offer financial assistance. Furthering our understanding of cancer and the development of more effective ways to treat cancer is a major concern to the Cancer Society. The Wanganui- Rangitikei-Waimarino Centre contributes substantial funds annually to Cancer Research undertaken in NZ.
