We are a co-educational secondary school for years 7 - 13 students. Our school is separated into two distinctive areas, Middle School and Senior School.
We take pride in being Napier city's co-educational college and middle school. We have a healthy learning atmosphere, which encourages collaboration between boys and girls. This in turn develops self-confidence in students so that they feel comfortable sharing their ideas and opinions in any situation, which prepares them to excel in life after school.
The Middle School Philosophy is based on an acknowledgement that emerging adolescents are at a pivotal developmental stage and have specific needs. Our Middle School creates a responsive and appropriate experience for this age group.
The Senior School focuses on providing a wide range of academic, practical, cultural and sporting opportunities. No only will these lead to qualifications (NCEA) but also to a real sense of achievement and enhanced self-esteem.
Our staff are renowned for being friendly and positive. We pride ourselves on being highly professional and are constantly reflecting, and looking at ways to improve our performance.
St Joseph's MÄori Girls' College was founded in 1867 by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. The college commenced on the property which is now Sacred Heart College, Napier when the Sisters and the MÄori Missioner, Fr Reigner SM started a little boarding school for MÄori girls at first called St Joseph's Providence, which was opened on 10 October with twenty pupils, The first principal was Sister Mary St John. The college usually had an enrollment of up to 60 pupils each year into the twentieth century. After the Napier earthquake of 1931 St Joseph's was rebuilt on its present site at Greenmeadows and reopened in 1935. The Sisters remained the school's proprietors. In 1982 the proprietors signed an integration Agreement with the Minister of Education and the college entered the State education system. Is the largest Girls' Maori Boarding Secondary School in New Zealand.
Our classes aims to allow children from a very young age to grow within an exceptionally creative program while developing their own creative awareness.
We aim to build confidence, teaching children rhythm and movement to specially designed soundtracks and choreographies. Inspiring coordination, timing with a strong sense of achievement and humour!
We are a pretty layed back Christian School group within N.G.H.S (Napier Girls High School) and we are reaching out to the school and are an awesome Group .
Our Group runs every Monday at lunch times in S1
So if you have nothing on at lunch times you should try and come along :)
There are FUN games on , Free Food , Music and many many more.
So yeah come along when ever you are free on MONDAY at LUNCHTIME :)
