Vacancy Available Now Experienced PORSE Professional In-Home Educator near Onekawa & St Patricks schools, Napier. I live in a fully fenced 3 bedroom home just off Taradale Road, not far from the Napier Aquatic centre and the Plunket Hub. I have a large sandpit, swings, bikes and plenty of outdoor equipment. Our house has great indoor/outdoor play areas. The children enjoy playing in my playroom as well as engaging in the numerous activities I provide. We like to explore the environment around us including The Splash Pad, walks, Parks, Library as well as all the PORSE outings. Current References available.

The type of approach I use is to value each child’s abilities and use their abilities and interests to educate them where possible. I am originally from the UK and have lived in New Zealand for 5 years with my Husband and two children, Sadie and Flynn. My previous positions have been in Customer Service, Human Resources and Recruitment. I have worked for Porse as a Home Educator for 3 years and have completed the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education. My hobbies include walking, gardening, outings with my family, camping and being with friends. As a flexible educator I offer children exciting opportunities to learn and grow in a caring and stimulating environment, promoting individuality and enhancing a child’s interests and capabilities. I work in with your lifestyle and parenting preferences in a safe and comfortable home environment. One of my hopes as an educator is to install a love of learning to the children in my care, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I feel I am compassionate and dedicated to working with children.

Some Nine Years ago I raced with some friends in the Southern Traverse. Though I felt that we never quite achieved our goals, I know what I learned from this undertaking has lead to a passion to challenge others. Bare Bottom Babies: Nappy-free infant toileting. A 2 hour workshop aimed at families with infants who are not yet crawling. 1st hour: History of infant toileting practices around the world and sharing my personal story of becoming aware that there is an alternative to nappies. 2nd Hour: Whip the nappies off and start the toileting journey with your baby. A brief look at the tools that are available (potties, clothing, nappies, mattress protectors) and an open discussion. For the two Saturdays following the workshop, I will be available from 10am til 11am to answer any questions or offer support as you and your infant begin toileting.
