draw inc. is a Hamilton based collective of practicing artists with a mission to “Engage the World through Artâ€. We all share a passion for Art and our fundamental belief that Art enhances community is a driving force behind our actions.
For the past eighteen months, our focus has been on supporting the working artist by exposing the wider community to the benefits of Art. We have renovated empty retail spaces in the Hamilton CBD and transformed them into pop-up art galleries. Emerging and established artists are invited to exhibit their work where we encourage robust dialogue and reflection by the community in a transparent, non-threatening way.
Early in 2012 we won the Innes48 hour Business Start-up competition which has set in motion a new direction for draw inc. We have developed a business model to promote the benefits of artworks to the corporate sector, via options such as renting, or purchasing. We strongly believe that, in the same way that fashion brands the individual, artworks can enhance the branding of a company. Our expertise and access to exciting, new contemporary art can help a business achieve a unique edge and help to communicate the company’s ideals to the public, in a way that supports local artists.
We believe Art makes a difference. We continue to promote our beliefs with valuable support from Hamilton businesses, hard work and commitment from the draw inc members and ongoing patronage from the community.
