Aircycle Inflatable Exerciser
A New Zealand woman’s desire to help her husband manage his severe arthritis led her to make the Aircycle. This inflatable exerciser enabled him to exercise his finger, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints while sitting down. It was so effective an arthritis educator asked for more to be made for other sufferers.
Arthritis NZ wrote about the Aircycle in their national magazine. A hospital registered it with Medsafe so it could be used in different areas such as physiotherapy, orthopaedics, podiatry and the diabetes clinic. Physiotherapists and rest homes reported some dramatic results.
Very soon it was being recommended fora range of circulation problems - for reducing swollen ankles, relieving night cramps, restless and aching legs: for diabetic foot problems and healing venous ulcers: for stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's and MS: for painful hands and feet, cold hands and feet: for long haul travel and for office workers sitting at desks all day.
At first the company worked through mail orders alone but now, as demand from all over NZ has grown, Aircycles are available in pharmacies, disability shops and mobility shops throughout NZ They are also becoming available in parts of Australia, USA and the UK and can be purchased on the website, www.aircycle.co.nz
