The Papakura Resource Centre was started over 30 years ago by a group of local principals. It has grown from humble beginnings into the busy, well supported retail outlet it is today.
The centre was closed recently but we are now pleased to announce that we have relocated to a new shop alongside the Library and Museum at 209 Great South Rd.
Papakura Education Services is now a privately owned Kiwi business which still offers the same friendly, knowledgeable service that the Papakura Resource Centre was known for.

The Hawkins Theatre - Papakura opened on the 14th July 1990 by Governor General Paul Reeves, and was an exciting step for the community as the first purpose-built facility for the arts in the District. The facility won commendation for its design in the 1990 NZIA awards, with the jury saying that while the Italianate form and size of the structure were large, the building successfully defined the public importance of the facility and its purpose.
