The Mapua Ferry provides a great link from Rabbit Island to the buzzing community of Mapua. And for cycling enthusiasts connects to Tasmans Great Taste Trail. The Mapua Ferry is also available for school educational programmes, private or group cruise bookings.

Along its seaward side there is more than eight kilometres of safe sandy beach. This is the largest picnic area in the district.
Much of the island is covered in pine plantations owned by the Tasman District Council. The Council has set aside a large area of land adjacent to the beach as a public reserve.
Classes are: Tuesday, & Saturday mornings 9.30am-10.30am. Great for beginners, I break-down a lot of songs & the various rhythms, eg merengue, salsa, reggaeton. Thursday classes 6-7pm
