The history of the team. Steve Barker (Manager/Captain) wanted to get a group of guys together who he used to play football with from early midget and school football years, and also involve the current bunch of lads he was playing seven aside with that were not already in an out-door 11 aside team. This created the platform for the majority of numbers required to register a new team, and then we spread the net a bit further to pull in another couple of players to make the first 16 fully paid up players of the Glenfield Roosters. The basis of the team was that a player must have known at least two other players in the team to be eligible to play...in what was designed to provide a great year of fun, laughs and football.
