860 Purerua Road RD1 Kerikeri, Northland New Zealand, Kerikeri ,
Visit Driftwood and enjoy a stay in our delightful bach . . . Our bach is very special and a million miles from a basic holiday bach! We have built a delightful Kiwiana cottage overlooking the vines and out to sea, brand new yet still charming with lovely Wallace Cotton linens and comfy furniture. The Bach at Driftwood is located on our waterfront vineyard property and can be rented from 2 nights to 2 months. The Bach is located close to the iconic white sand Tapuaetahi beach and still has its own more sheltered private inlet beach, hosting beach huts and boat launching facilities. The Bach sleeps 2 people, in style. If you have an older family or visiting friends there is a bunk house on the beach ,which has a queen bed and 2 bunks and is totally gorgeous! (featured in lots of brochures and magazines). All linens and towels are included and there is a washing machine. The kitchen is gleaming new but bach basic and the BBQ is more of the go! The private beach offers pizza oven, dingies, boat launch for all but low low tide and great snapper and mullet fishing off the rocks! This is the perfect example of the classic Kiwi bach just for two. Our youngest daughter has horses on the property and is happy offer guided rides to pristine white beaches for galloping and swimming on horse back. No charge but a contribution to their feed is always appreciated! Thinking of immigrating to NZ and want somewhere "real" to use as your base while you decide. Or have you already made the move and need somewhere to call home until your furniture arrives. It's the perfect ease into New Zealand life.

Tapuaetahi Beach House

Tapuaetahi Beach House

Tapuaetahi Beach, Purerua Road,, Kerikeri ,
This is a kiwi bach & bay that will take you right back to NZ the way it used to be. A safe swimming white sand bay, on a summer's day dotted with boatie's ancient tractors. An estuary & lagoon 'designed' for toddler's paddling. Great diving and fishing literally hundreds of metres off this great coastal beach. Scallops, paua & mussels in the vicinity. A surf beach within 20 minutes coastal walk. The Cavalli Islands just 15 minutes boat ride north and the Bay of Islands a similar distance south. Tapuaetahi Beach is a private bay that is never crowded though only 20 mins from the cafes of Kerikeri. The house is a real 60's kiwi bach. Just 25m from the broad veranda to the sea, yet very private. From here you can watch the day unfold, or dine & entertain at the large outdoor table. The house has 4 bedrooms that has frequently hosted 2 families. In the bach you will be comfortable & feel at home. Tapuaetahi is so private it is very hard to find on maps; find a detailed map of Northland, locate the Bay of Islands (BOI), the peninsula at the northern side of the BOI is called Purerua. Tapuaetahi is at the base of the northern side of the peninsula - south of Takou Bay and next to Taronui Bay - see map websites - http://www.zoomin.co.nz/map/nz/far+north/kerikeri/-taronui+bay/ A very, very special place; if you come here you will return. If you have a boat you have access to some of the best diving & fishing NZ has to offer. If you don't, you can walk the coast to isolated surf beaches and bring home a feed of tuatua. Sunbathe or swim in the estuary, lagoon or white sandy beach, or fish or snorkel from the rugged coastal rocks. Feel like a change, take in the cafes of Kerikeri (15 mins), day trip to Russell (Bay of Islands), 90 Mile Beach, or Monganui famous for fish 'n' chips, or golf at Kauri Cliffs.
