Taupo Skate Park
Taupo Skate Park was opened in 2000 with the efforts of local skaters.
One of the best parks in the country not only because of its design but the skaters & locals who have made it their own!
The Skate Park is located at the A C Reserve on Tauhara Road. Constructed by Tracks Concrete of Whakatane at a cost of $200,000, it is a Chad Ford designed facility. The overall dimensions are 55 metres long by 29 metres at its widest point and it has 1286 square metres of concrete surface to skate.
Since the park was opened it has been enhanced with the addition of a drinking fountain, barriers, paving, seats, a toilet and lighting. It has become a popular venue for a wide ranging age group and is also used for skating demos, competitions and other youth events.

… founded by skater, urban indie artist & designer Cole Holyoake (!@M3) to get some action for the park at Taupo & to hook up the crew! This tight crew of skaters (& a few riders) with some help from ARTIVIST : creative & Jeremy at Pointons (OG Taupo skater dood) set up !@M3 Sk8 & the LAME SKATE & BMX JAM INC.
!@M3 was started in 2006.
!@M3 Sk8 CReW are : Cole Holyoake, Poona, Hemi Selwyn, James Dale, BRaM, Oscar Holyoake, Ruben Bartosh, Damian Skater Brightwell… plus other !@M3 Sk8 PeePs Rik, Chase, BoWMaN, Trent & some others (you know who you are!) & all the rest of the OG Taupo Skate Park regulars have some sort of connection… even some of those bikers… !@M3 rider Joel McDowell & Mark Russell with some other peeps Jordan, Mickey, Sean, Conner, Rhys & Rhys, Hemi Mildon & Joe Simpson… all G & in the crew!
BMX rider Jed Mildon was supported by !@M3 & the local society before making his own way Internationally...

S&F / Style & Flow is a label & team from the park for BMX by local rider Joe Simpson. Joe is an advocate for continued action & activity at the Taupo Skate Park.
