We, Juliet and Nigel, have been designing, creating and selling jewellery since 1974. We started out as “Joyous Crafts”, trading in Shands Emporium and Shades Arcade on Hereford Street. We changed our name to Vulcan in 1996 and opened a design store in Cashel Mall under this name in 2000. Wanting a more relaxed lifestyle, we joined the Cathedral Square Market in 2003 as “Silver Central”. The devastating Canterbury earthquake in February 2011 left us without a place to trade. Since then, we have been travelling up and down the country, trading in pop up shops, malls, markets and fairs in Christchurch and Wellington. Silver Central offers a range of beautiful jewellery. We stock rings, earrings, studs, bracelets, necklaces, chains, pendants, charms, bone carvings, body jewellery and fashion jewellery. Our materials include sterling silver, gemstones, shell, wood, pearls and amber. There is something for everyone, from a small gift to a statement piece. Our jewellery is fun,elegant and beautiful. Juliet hand crafts unique designs in necklaces and earrings using pearls and gemstones. Nigel specialises in rings, pendants, earrings, chains and charms crafted in silver, with an emphasis on New Zealand themes.
