Our School Motto at Rotorua Intermediate is "Courage and Commitment". The Staff and Board of Trustees believe that this motto encapsulates the positive attitude to life, work and living which we want students to leave Rotorua Intermediate with after two years of quality education.

We offer a 2 year, 4 semester Bible study programme, designed to feed, strengthen and equip those who have a heart to live for and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in Ministry.

The name Waiariki, water of the gods, was chosen to emphasise the regional nature of the Institute and also because the name had significant meaning for the large Māori population. The Waiariki servicing area corresponds closely with that of the Waiariki Māori Land district. In addition, the name is appropriate because of the region’s distinctive thermal activity.
