At the foot of picturesque Mt Wellington, with views of Panmure Basin, and a quick commute to the CBD, many are discovering the attractions of Panmure.
A suburb with considerable history, housing is a mix of 1950s ex-state properties and established brick and weatherboard homes, many still with a sizeable back yard. Moves by the City Council to encourage new growth in the area have sparked renewed insterest by buyers, investors and developers alike. The council's $2 million investment has given the Panmure township a facelift, including attractive cobbling and decorative lighting.
The Barfoot & Thompson office is situated at the western end of Queens Road, by the roundabout, and staff enjoy being part of the busy community.
There are a number of local schools with a long established history including respected decile 9 private school Carey College, while Auckland University's Tamaki Campus is also a considerable attraction. The lagoon's model boat and train park and boardwalk draw people from throughout the surrounding areas.
