Voice Coaching
Using a variety of vocal exercises, vocal health advice and a strictly confidential, private place to try out different voice sounds, together we can find your own comfortable, expressive voice.
Our voices can give us away and feel exposing; our health, genders or emotions can show when we speak and/or sing.
Reclaiming your voice can help reclaim your body. Speaking and singing are physical activities and connect directly with your breath, posture and self-expression.
The voice tends to be an area of gender identity that is ignored by other professionals, so trans*, intersex and genderqueer people are left to work on this alone.
The varying levels of Testosterone in all bodies affects the voice. Whether you are taking hormones or not, there are changes you can make to your voice to feel more comfortable and confident when using it. Adjusting hormone levels can affect your voice and it is helpful to get support to work through these changes.
It is possible, with training and hard work over time, to adjust the pitch, timbre and strength of your speaking and/or singing voice. This can sometimes over time affect the positioning of your larynx (Adam's Apple).
All genders welcome. $40-80 per hour depending on income.
