Welcome to Cosmic Costume Hire (and buy)....to some people who have not yet discovered us, we are Kapiti's best kept secret! Tucked away on the "wrong side" of the tracks in Paraparaumu on the gorgeous Kapiti Coast, since 2004 Cosmic has been a treasure trove of delightful products for young and old, big or small. Our compact but cosy shop is like an Aladdin's cave literally brimming over and bursting at the seams with costumes to hire/purchase, accessories, wigs, boots, boas and...well, you name it, we have probably got it. All this AND the best prices around. New customers are constantly amazed at what we have, and returning customers, not to mention the sales reps who travel not only the length and breadth of New Zealand but also Australia, tell us we are the best! How did we get started and who are we? We are Tracey and Mark, a husband and wife team who opened this magical store in 2004 after trying to hunt down costumes for Mark's birthday. We quickly found that there was very little on the Kapiti Coast and had to travel 50kms to put a costume together (and then return it!) - a costly exercise what with all the other expenses involved with throwing or attending a party. The discovery that there was very little to choose from in our small but growing area led us to opening our very own costume store. We liked the idea of a business that not only recycles products but also brings fun and laughter to our customers, who often win best dressed. With two small children at the time, we felt it was the perfect family business. Now, after 8 years in business, we know what our customers want and we cater for all sorts of shapes and sizes. We have a good plus size range dispelling the myth that larger people won't find anything to fit. Dear plus size people, we have you in mind as we constantly source new items. So, that's our story. Marquis Cattery is an independent cattery in Paraparaumu, on the Kapiti Coast. We specialise in providing tailored care for each individual cat and ensure each one receives loads of love and attention. Bookings are essential around the holiday season, as we ensure each cat has plenty of room to live in and gets time alone to play in a secure, outdoor run and the large cattery area inside. Special requirements are catered for too, including nutrition, medication and heatpads if required. (special prescription diets will have to be provided by the owner. All medications and needles for diabetics must be provided also) Each cat boarded must carry a current vaccination certificate, so please remember it when bringing puss to stay!
