Southern Stars Early Learning Centre is a community owned centre bordering the edge of New Zealand’s largest National Park and World Heritage Area.

Our service exists to offer high quality teaching and inspiring learning experiences to Fiordland’s tamariki and whanau.
We believe in challenging and extending children’s personal and physical boundaries through strategies of thinking and reasoning.
Children are given the opportunity to participate in activities regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or background.
We acknowledge and respect our bi-cultural heritage and incorporate Te Reo and Tikanga Máori into our everyday practise.
Southern Stars Early Learning Centre is a non-profit organisation run by a
volunteer Management Committee who are committed to ensuring the
Community’s early learning requirements are met.
This Centre is fully licensed by the Ministry of Education.

We are open Monday – Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm
We are closed for the two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period.
We close on the usual Statutory Holidays.
We are licensed for a maximum of 35 children.
(Inclusive of 15 under 2 children)
Age range of Children is 0 – 5 years.
Ballet beginners can join Fiordland Dance School from age 3.5-4years to learn ballet. There are already a range of ages up to a adults class.
Anyone who might be interested in something a bit different there is Urban Jazz students can join at about 7years old. Our dance classes are held at the Yacht Club and if you would like to come along and see if you or your little one is keen to join us please just give Jess a call :)
Kepler Kids is a home-based education service that caters for children aged 0-5years. We offer children a warm, calm and stimulating learning environment with small group sizes. Children are encouraged and supported in their learning journey by a qualified, NZ registered and experienced early childhood teacher.
Qualified early childhood teacher providing care and teaching for children in a home that has been set up totally for the children. Awesome toys and resources to explore and play with inside and an awesome developing outside area that is all fully fencing and a safe environment to grow and learn.
This service is fully licenced and approved by Ministry of Education.
The Tomatis Method developed by Dr Alfred Tomatis is a non invasive,non medical treatment aimed at helping people with communicative, learning and personal disorders. Developed during the 1980s in Europe it is now, due to technology, much more accessible.
