We'd love to receive your unwanted goods and welcome you to our shop full of fantastic items for sale! There is an enormous range of stuff for sale that is ready to use or can be repurposed for more creative uses.
We always have opportunities for volunteers to work with us to develop CReW into a thriving community enterprise. Come down and have a chat with one of the team; it's great to hear from people who have specific skills to offer, such as furniture repairs, bicycle repairs, electrical safety testing.
We are part of the RCN E-Cycle network of electronic and electrical goods recyclers. Bring down your old computer or electrical equipment and we'll make sure none of it goes to landfill. There is a charge for some items to be recycled. We also accept all larger whiteware and domestic appliances, working or not.
Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade has 30 dedicated members who give up their time to help others
We provide a 24 hour 7 day a week service averaging 250 - 300 call outs a year.
We do a variety of calls from House fires, Motor vechile accidents, Medical Assist, Rescues, Hazardous spills, False Alarms, and more.
mainly music is a fun interactive music session for children aged 0-5 years and their caregivers. We meet every Thursday at 9:30am during school terms at Whakatane Baptist Church.
Neighbourhood Support Whakatane is a charitable trust operating under the umbrella of Neighbourhood Support New Zealand.
Neighbourhood Support New Zealand's mission and aim:
MISSION: to create safer communities throughout New Zealand by promoting and supporting the establishment and continued development of Neighbourhood Support.
AIM: to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and more caring places in which to live.
The work of Whaktane Neighbourhood Support is holistic in nature, working in partnership with Police, Fire Service, Whakatane District Council - Emergency Management; and community organisations such as Victim Support and Community Patrols.
Our key areas of concern are:
Community Safety: reducing crime and the effects and fear of crime.
Community Resilience: helping to develop community capacity to deal with adverse events.
We are based at the Police Services Centre, Whakatane (next door to the Whakatane Police Station).
