As a teacher, I am acutely aware of how crucial it is that books and reading are a major part of a child's life. Exposing children to books when they are young boosts their emergent language and literacy development, promotes knowledge and education, and increases the likelihood of future academic success. It's also a magical time for bonding with your child and creating in them a life-long passion for reading.
None of that is surprising. But what did surprise me is how many families told me that high-quality children's books were just too expensive.
And so began our quest to find quality children's books to bring to NZ and make them instantly available and affordable to EVERYONE!
Thus Daisy and Dukes' Children's Books was born.
