The Matakana Golden Mile Collectables Trail offers six eclectic shops located the short distance between Warkworth and the Matakana Village. Annies Vintage & Curios, The Red Barn, Jack Boots, Rummage Matakana, MooiMooi and Fossick. In keeping with that distinctive Matakana country look and feel, the shops along the Trail are located in old character sheds and barns that have been part of the local landscape for years. Behind every wooden door there are varied histories of old farm barns, retired engineering sheds and even the original dairy factory. So take your time, come along for the day, or make a weekend of it. When you need to take a break along the Trail, go and re-fuel with the locals in the relaxed atmosphere of The Matakana Village Pub where you can soak up more local history in the recently renovated Kauri villa.
